Moments Meant To Be Witnessed

Common Ground: The Final Round

From Artistic Director Catherine Glynn

"Life is a circumference surrounded by circumstances. Without compassion and listening—the capacity to bear witness to another's circumstances—we lose perspective. We become myopic and self-centered, often self-righteous. We become the center of the circle rather than part of the momentum that moves things forward."

Celebrating 10 Years With Lanesboro Arts

A.R.T. (Audacious Raw Theater) is celebrating its 10th Year with Lanesboro Arts!(opens in new tab)

Since our seasonal inception in 2017, we have been working with the concept of hosting seven international performing artists for seven days and creating seven or more newly devised works

The Journey So Far

In 2023, our piece Surf & Turf: Stories of Water & Earth focused on Land Stewardship and Climate Change.

In 2024, our work, There is a Field(opens in new tab), centered around Parenthood, Procreation, and Reproductive Justice.

In 2026, we will tackled The Second Amendment and the rise in gun violence in a newly devised piece called These Sovereign Woods, featuring Core A.R.T. members Jerome Yorke of Cincinnati and Hilary Williams of Chicago.

Seeking Common Ground

As ARTists, we actively seek to cultivate and create stories from a wide range of diverse people. We wish to reflect all sides, so instead of solely focusing on what divides us, we will strive to uncover collective values that unite us.

To keep up to date with what we are getting up to next, check out our  Meta (FaceBook) Page.

The Common Ground Project

In 2023, we began working with the overarching theme of Common Ground.

Under this umbrella, we are taking on stories and performances that, at first glance, may seem polarizing in nature.

For the Common Good

As always, Audacious Raw Theater aims to reflect reality in fragments and fractals. To that end, we will devise powerful and provocative performances that gather our community on common ground for the common good.

Our shows are recommended for ages 13 and up.

2026: A Gracious Grant

Our Latest Adventures are State-Funded, and we could not be more grateful!

Catherine Glynn is a fiscal year 2026 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Thank you to MSAB (Minnesota State Art Board) for your generous grants supporting our work.

This grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board is helping us to undertake the writing, research, and community-based devising workshops to generate material for the year's production.

Thank you Minnesota...we couldn't do what we do ANY WHERE ELSE!
